Governor's Private Camp is located on a tranquil bend of the Mara River, which is home to a resident pod of hippos, and is surrounded by woodlands abounding with birds. Governor's, albeit slightly smaller than its sister camp Il Moran, is great for families or groups of friends because the entire camp may be reserved for exclusive use for up to 16 people, providing a truly private safari experience. You'll go on exhilarating game drives in search of Africa's Big 5, and you'll have the chance to see thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate over the savannah and make risky crossings over the area's crocodile-infested rivers between July and October. Early morning hot-air balloon excursions will provide you with breathtaking aerial views, while guided nature hikes will teach you about this incredible environment. You might also go on a day trip to gorgeous Lake Victoria or visit a nearby Maasai hamlet to meet the residents and learn about their way of life.
