About

Encounter Mara is a 10-tent camp located on the edge of the savannah beneath the cover of acacia trees within the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, which borders the famous Masai Mara reserve in southwest Kenya. The conservancy is well-known for its abundant wildlife and award-winning sustainability approach, which aims to balance the needs of local populations, wildlife, and tourists. It boasts a higher animal density than the nearby Masai Mara National Reserve and one of the world's most intense lion populations. Guests may witness zebras amble to the local saltlick, a giraffe strut straight by camp, a mongoose scurrying along the trail right in front of you, or even a cheetah stalking the plains from the camp's outside observation platform. Listen for lions speaking to each other as they begin their night of hunting over sundowners around the campfire. Guests at Encounter Mara may embark on nature hikes around camp or take a hot-air balloon ride across the plains.
